On Being Brave

Here's what I want to say to you. Be brave.

You can either be safe or free; you cannot be both.

What do you want? Who do you want to be? What stops you? Fear of failure, rejection, misunderstanding? You live in that daily, waiting for the perfect moment and permission to live. Live now.

There will always be people with loud voices who tell you what you want is too big and too much. Their voices may be so familiar they play on repeat in your head. They may mock you and discourage you - that is their fear talking. Listen to the longing inside you - quiet, brave, and faithful. And gosh, is it persistent...

Move from the energy of love; it will take you to mountain tops, open doors you didn't know existed, and usher you into whole-hearted living.

As Marianne Williamson beautifully says, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate—our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?"

Be brave. Be you (and enjoy the discovery of who that is). Be free.

*This is a picture of my Great-Grandmother. She is my Muse; I aspire to be that wild woman on the horse.
