Free 30-Minute Consultation

The single most important part of therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. It is because of this that we offer a free 30 minute face-to-face consultation before beginning our work together. At Riverbend we want you to feel comfortable with your therapist and the therapeutic space. This meeting will give you the opportunity to ask questions about the process and determine if this is the right fit for you before committing to therapy.

Individualized Treatment Plan

During our first two sessions, your therapist will collect a comprehensive history that will help us better understand your experience and how we can help you. Your therapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is designed to enhance your strengths (yes, you have them!) so that we can begin to effectively treat what is distressing to you. At Riverbend we focus on 6 crucial areas of mental and physical health. Addressing these areas in combination with therapy will create an environment where you are most likely to be successful and experience long term change.

It is important to us that your treatment fit you. We do not believe in a one size fits all approach to treating trauma, attachment or grief. Most importantly, we want you to be empowered by this experience. You will have choices. We will work together to create a healing environment where you can learn to express your needs, advocate for yourself, and move with more confidence through the world.

Treatment Duration

One of the obstacles that keeps people from seeking therapy is the fear that they will be in therapy forever. By our third session, Your therapist will present you with a treatment plan that includes measurable goals that we have discussed, suggestions for how to treat your symptoms, and my estimation for how many sessions it will take to meet those goals.

How long you need to engage in counseling and how often you attend sessions will be influenced by many factors including:

 - your schedule and life circumstances

- provider availability

- ongoing life challenges

- the nature of your specific challenges and how you address them

- personal finances

You and your provider will continually assess the appropriate frequency of therapy and will work together to determine when you have met your goals and are ready for discharge.

Clients often wonder,"How do you measure happiness?" The answer is that you can't. Everyone has a different definition of what happiness is. However, we can measure other aspects of your experience that will help us know you are healing. For example, we can set goals that you have fewer panic attacks, attend more social events, achieve more restful sleep, communicate more effectively with your partner, or advocate for yourself more often at work.

Having a plan will also help us identify obstacles that may get in the way of your treatment and we can develop a plan to overcome those obstacle together. Throughout our work together we will check in on the goals we have set to determine if we are progressing and if they are still relevant to your circumstances.

Payment and Insurance

We cannot accept Medicaid clients at this time. We do not accept insurance for a couple of reasons, most importantly we want to ensure that the treatment you get is tailored to your specific needs and not what an insurance company dictates for you.

We are required by Federal Law to provide each of our current and potential clients with a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act effective 1/1/2022. Each of our providers offer their services at different rates depending on licensure and experience. If you were to come to one initial free consultation and 51 (fifty-one) one hour sessions you could expect the following:

Jesie Steffes, MA, LPC, CG-C - $165/hour x 51 = $8,415

Lateka Salley, LCSW - $150/hour x51 = $7,650

Brooke Small, MA, LPC - $125/hour x 51 = $6,375

Jeanne Wickham, MA, LPC, LAC - $125/hour x 51 = $6,375

Lynnae Gillard, LCSW - $125/hour x 51 = $6,375

Payment is due at the end of each session and can be set up to be automatically withdrawn for your convenience.  In addition, we can provide you with a statement at the end of every month that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
