Modalities & Approaches

How I support healing, regulation, and reconnection.

My work is rooted in the understanding that healing happens in the body first—in the nervous system, in the deep interior places where stories, sensations, emotions, and patterns live long before they have words.

Everything I offer is grounded in a somatic, trauma-informed, relational approach, honoring your pace, your intuition, and the wisdom your body has been carrying for years.

Below is an overview of the primary modalities I weave into our work together.

Somatic Experiencing® (SE)

Restoring regulation, resilience, and a sense of safety.

Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach designed to resolve and renegotiate trauma. Instead of retelling painful stories, we gently track sensations, impulses, and nervous system patterns to allow your body to complete what was once too overwhelming.

SE can help with:

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, shutdown, and chronic stress

  • Developmental trauma and attachment wounds

  • Chronic activation or numbness

  • Feeling “stuck” or disconnected from self or others

  • Difficulty trusting your own boundaries, intuition, or desire

Through titration (doing a little at a time) and pacing that honors your system’s capacity, SE helps your body learn what safety feels like—often for the first time.

Somatic Touch

Repatterning the body through attuned, therapeutic contact.

Somatic Touch is a gentle, non-invasive modality rooted in Somatic Experiencing principles.

It supports the deeper layers of the nervous system—especially the early, pre-verbal patterns shaped by our first experiences of connection, rupture, and repair.

Sessions may include:

  • Light, supportive touch to the head, back, feet, or joints

  • Attunement to micro-shifts in breath, impulse, movement, or emotion

  • Opportunities for your body to experience co-regulation and deep settling

  • Repair of attachment ruptures held beneath conscious awareness

This work is especially supportive for people who feel:

  • Chronically overextended

  • Frozen or “collapsed”

  • Overwhelmed by talk therapy alone

  • Cut off from their felt sense or intuition

  • Somatic Touch helps rebuild a foundation of internal safety and capacity—allowing deeper emotional and relational work to unfold.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing)

Unwinding the roots of trauma, belief patterns, and emotional triggers.

EMDR helps the brain process and integrate past experiences that still impact you today. Rather than forcing insight, EMDR supports the mind’s natural capacity to reorganize memory networks so that the past no longer overrides the present.

I integrate EMDR through a somatic lens, meaning:

We move at the speed of your nervous system

  • We include body sensations, imagery, and impulses in the work

  • We track activation and grounding as equal sources of information

  • We ensure your system has enough capacity before touching deeper material

This approach can help:

  • Reduce emotional reactivity

  • Shift limiting beliefs formed in childhood or past relationships

  • Resolve traumatic memories

  • Increase self-trust, confidence, and agency

  • Support integration after significant life transitions

  • EMDR paired with somatic work often creates powerful, sustainable change.

Sex Therapy (Somatic & Trauma-Informed)

Reclaiming desire, pleasure, embodiment, and relational connection.

Sex therapy through a somatic lens honors sexuality as an expression of aliveness, not just behavior. Our work may explore the layers—personal, relational, cultural, spiritual—that have shaped your relationship to desire, pleasure, body, intimacy, or identity.

Common themes include:

  • Low desire or mismatched desire in relationships

  • Shame or fear related to pleasure

  • Pain, numbness, or disconnection during sex

  • Healing from purity culture, religious messaging, or trauma

  • Exploring kink, fantasy, and erotic expression safely and consciously

  • Navigating sexual identity, orientation, or life transitions

Somatic sex therapy helps you:

  • Understand how the nervous system shapes desire and arousal

  • Build internal safety and capacity for pleasure

  • Release shame from the body—not just the mind

  • Integrate sexuality with spirituality, intuition, and personal values

  • Reclaim your erotic self as a source of vitality, creativity, and connection

This work is always paced with deep respect, consent, and attunement.

The Thread That Connects Them All

While each modality has its own structure, the heart of my work remains the same:

  • Your body tells the truth.

  • Your nervous system holds the map.

  • Your healing unfolds through relationship—first with me, and ultimately with yourself.

Together, we create a space where your system can soften, reorganize, and remember its inherent capacity for healing, connection, and wholeness.
